On the Road Again

We left Mom and Dad's house in Spivey's Corner, NC on Thursday. We went North..about 120 miles to the UNC Recreation Area near Townsville, NC. We're going to stay here until Monday. The area is a campground operated by UNC-CH for employees, retirees and students of UNC-CH. We've been camping here at Rock Point for about 17 years. Our good friends Van, Rita, Laverne and Ken are with us this weekend. Ken and Laverne brought their niece Michelle and a new puppy Buddy along with them. Van and Rita brought Koji and Dakota along also.
And of course we have our Ellie.
Buddy is a Teddy Roosevelt Rat Terrier (type B). He has short legs with a long body. Very cute. He has made friends very quickly with all of the other dogs. The picture of Dakota, Ellie and Koji was taken when they were waiting for Gary and Rita to return to the camp site. Very devoted animals!!!

The campground is located on Kerr Lake. The lake has over 800 miles of shoreline and is about 35 miles long. It straddles the NC and Virgina state line.
We love it here. It is one of the most peaceful places I know. (As long as the boats and jet skis are quiet.) I'm told there is good fishing here but since we don't fish I can't say for sure. But, we see many bass boats on the water so it must be so.
